Zhengzhong Lu, age 71, passed away on April 16, 2026, in Boston, Massachusetts, following a fall and a brief illness. He was born on December 20, 1954 (Chinese calendar), in Qingdao, China.
He grew up in Jimo, Qingdao, alongside his father, Jingfu Lu (predeceased); his brother, Zhengjia; his sister, Shujie; and his late brothers, Zhengyi and Zhengqiang. He lost his mother, Shuqing, at the age of three, but was lovingly raised by his grandmother, father, and siblings, who formed a close and supportive family.
Zhengzhong worked as a general contractor in construction, a profession through which he demonstrated dedication, resilience, and pride in building for others. He was known for his strong work ethic and his quiet commitment to those around him.
He married his beloved wife, Qiuyun, in 1981, and together they built a life centered on family, raising two children. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
In 2022, Zhengzhong relocated to the United States, first settling in Dallas, Texas, before moving to Boston, Massachusetts, in 2023. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially spending time outdoors. He loved fishing in Cape Cod and digging for razor clams—activities that brought him peace and a deep connection to nature.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Zhengyi and Zhengqiang. Throughout his life, he took great care of his father and his parents-in-law until their passing, embodying deep filial devotion and a strong sense of responsibility to his family.
Zhengzhong is survived by his loving wife, Qiuyun, of Newton, Massachusetts; his daughter, Feiran, and her husband, Michael, and their daughter, Florence, all of Newton; his son, Hao, and his wife, Lijing, and their daughter, Ximing, of Beijing; his siblings, Zhengjia and Shujie; and many beloved nephews and nieces, including Tongjin, Wenbin, and Xia.
The family of Zhengzhong Lu profoundly appreciates your kindness, prayers, and comforting words during this difficult time as we celebrate and honor the life of a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
