Ronald G Gigliotti Sr, 78 of Newton, passed away peacefully at Saint Elizabeth's hospital on Sunday March 10th 2024, Surrounded by his family. He was a loving husband, father & grandfather. 

Ronald was predeceased by his loving wife of Forty three years Linda A (Germinaro) Gigliotti of Danbury Connecticut who passed away in 2011 and his granddaughter Samantha Lynn Ghannam (2011)

 

Born and raised in Newton Massachusetts to the late Victor and Viola (Antonellis) Gigliotti Sr.

He attended Newton public schools before enlisting in the US Navy and serving in the Vietnam war, Aboard the USS Robert, A Owens DD827.

 

Ronald also served many years as a National Guard member., He proudly served 36 years with the US Postal Service before retiring.

 

Ronald was a member of the American Legion Post 440. He was also a lifelong avid Boston sports fan. He could always be found watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

 

He enjoyed family outings and especially chasing the Phantom Gourmet top ten picks. Ronald enjoyed his trips to Foxwoods and the Mohegan Suns casinos with his friends from Tewksbury.  He also enjoyed playing the daily number game, keno and scratch tickets on his free time.

 

Ronald was constantly helping others, especially his grandchildren whether driving them to work, school or practices. He enjoyed watching them play sports.

Ronald took pride in his grandchildren's school years, where he played the annual Santa Claus and Easter bunny for the Tewksbury public school system.

 

Ronald is survived by his daughter and son in law, Rhonda (Gigliotti) & Steven C. Magazu Sr. of Newton.

His son and daughter in law Ronald & Lisa (Masiello) Gigliotti Jr. of Ashland. Proud Papa of his Grandchildren, Alyson  Lee Jr, & Tyler Ghannam, Steven Magazu Jr, Nina & Peter Gigliotti.

He is also survived by his brother and sister in law Victor and Esther Gigliotti Jr of Waltham, and
numerous cousins, nieces & nephews. 

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday March 16th , from 1pm to 4:30 pm at Andrew J. Magni & Son Funeral Home. 365 Watertown Street, Newton, with a Prayer Service at 4:30pm. Burial at a later date.
