Robert (Bob) W. Webb passed away at the age of 76 on Sunday (race day) July 26,2026.

 

Bob was born in Boston, October 9th 1949 to Maxwell Webb and Annie Webb and lived in Newton his entire life.

 

BC (Before Children): Bob graduated from Newton High, had his license revoked 4 times in a year, and he decided it was best to buy a race car and race on the track instead of the streets. One of the conditions of working on his race car at a local garage was that he had to drive their tow truck. On one rainy day his friend drove through a puddle in Boston and stalled out. When Bob showed up to tow the vehicle, he met his future wife Phyllis.

 

Bob and Phyllis were married for 52 years, he worked primarily as a mechanic, but also drove buses, ambulances, dump trucks and delivery vehicles. 

 

 Bob and Phyllis raised their 3 children in Newton and loved to take Sunday drives, attend races, and family vacations in RVs Bob converted to Diesel.

 

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, daughters, Ann Tomblin and her husband Ash of Newton, Julie Gregorio of Newton, son, Robb Webb of Los Angeles, granddaughters Eva and Liv Gregorio, sister, Maxine Thelwell, and brothers Michael and David Webb, as well as several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his sister Deborah Dunn and brother Paul Webb. 

 

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Aug 2nd from 4pm to 7pm at Magni Funeral Home, 365 Watertown St, Newton, MA.

 

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Aug 3rd at 10:30am at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish.

 

Burial will be in Newton Cemetery & Arboretum.
