Leacy, Marion.jpg

It is with heavy and broken hearts that we share the passing of Marion Ann (McLellan) Leacy of Newton, MA on May 28,2026, while surrounded by her loved ones.

Ann was born on November 18, 1942 in New Waterford, CB, NS, Canada to Carson and Catherine (Grace) McLellan. She was one of seven children and is survived by her siblings, Kay Prior, Buddy McLellan, John McLellan, Ellen Blundon and predeceased by Tory Tripp and Bill MacLellan.

She left Canada at the age of 16 to pursue work as a nanny. She met the love of her life, Harry M. Leacy, shortly thereafter in Newton, MA where they settled and raised a family. They were happily married for 64 years. Together they raised five children in a loving home. Harry predeceased Ann on February 28, 2026.

Ann is survived by her children, Judi Cunningham (Stephen) of Ashland, MA, Janet Locklin (Robert) of Upton, MA, Joan Paschal (Thomas) of Waltham, MA, Harry Leacy (Lucinda) of Upton, MA and Jennifer Leacy of Newton, MA. Ann was a loving and proud grandmother to her 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She’s also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her step son, Harry Koehler of Worms, Germany, and his family.

We will forever lovingly remember Ann as a great listener and caretaker of her family. In times of need, you could always count on Ann for both laughter and advice, a warm meal and a roof over your head. She was a devoted Boston sports fan, and lover of country music. She took pride in her beautiful garden, and especially cherished her yellow flowers. Ann was an avid crocheter and made beautiful blankets for all of her loved ones. Although we mourn the loss of our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, we know that her love will continue to keep us all warm, and we take comfort in the fact that Ann is now reunited with her adoring husband.

We invite those who wish to pay respects to join Ann’s family from 4-7 pm at Magni Funeral Home, 365 Watertown St. Newton, MA, on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

A Funeral Mass in Ann’s honor will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Our Lady’s Church in Newton, 573 Washington St. at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
