SPEZZANO, Lucy (Marini) Age 83, of Wellesley, passed away on April 14th, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Lucy was born in Newton and grew up in Nonantum (The Lake). She graduated from Newton High School In 1958 and shortly after married the love of her life Joseph (deceased 2020). Her commitment to serving others and her unwavering Catholic faith were central to her life and her 40 year career at the Elizabeth Seton Residency. She cherished spending time with family and friends especially around the holidays where her kitchen was a hub of love and warmth. 

 

Lucy was predeceased by her husband Joseph. She leaves behind her children Joseph and wife June of Portsmouth, NH, Donna Dennis and husband Russell of Tucson, AZ, Karen Murphy and husband John of West Dennis, Kevin and wife Carol of Medway, and David and wife Diana of Needham; 12 grandchildren Daniel, Nicolas, Julia, Kyle, Conor (Emily), Marisa, Fallon, Cameron, Alexandra, Max, Katherine, and Andrew. Sister to Anne DelVecchio, Virginia Dalicandro, and James Marini (Leslie). Fondly remembered by many sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

 

Family and friends will honor  Lucy's life on Thursday, April 18th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Magni Funeral Home, Newton. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wellesley on Friday, April 19th at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elizabeth Seton Residence in Wellesley.
