Louise Mary (Caira) D’Amico, 88, of Watertown, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 28, 2025. Louise was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her love and smiles will be deeply missed.
Louise was born in Newton Massachusetts on November 11, 1937 to Benjamin and Mary Caira. She dedicated her life to her family and had a passion for reading and puzzles. You would always find her with a book, a treasured National Enquirer magazine, or crossword puzzle in her hands, and when she reasoned through a difficult clue, her eyes would light up in delight. My brother and I owe our culinary skills to our mom. She insisted we know how to cook for ourselves because she didn’t want to chance her boys ever going hungry. Louise showed her love through food and cooking. She was in her element when she was at the stove preparing a meal for our growing family; be it a birthday, holiday,or just a visit by the house to say “hi,” mom always made sure there were plenty of leftovers for everyone to bring home.
Louise is survived by her two sons, Frank and his wife Beth D’Amico of Northbridge Massachusetts; Michael and his wife Deb D’Amico, of Milford Massachusetts; three beloved grandchildren Heather, Paige and Nicholas; and her brothers Benjamin, Richard and Ronnie Caira. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Frank D’Amico
Friends and family will gather in Louise's memory at the Magni Funeral, 365 Watertown St, Newton at 10am on Thursday January 8, 2026. A Prayer Service will be held at 11am and will be followed by the burial of her cremains at Newton Cemetery.
