Lawrence “Larry” J. Caramanica, a lifelong resident of Nonantum Village in Newton, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Larry was born on September 7, 1948, in Newton, Massachusetts, to the late Michael and Mary (Bianchi) Caramanica. A lifelong Newton resident, Larry had deep roots in the Nonantum community and treasured the family, friendships, and connections he made throughout his life.

​

He was the loving father of Michella Caramanica and the dear brother of Michael A. Caramanica and his wife, Lee, of Charleston, South Carolina, and Lucy Matthews of Sudbury, Massachusetts. He was the beloved nephew of Edith Arduino.

​

Larry also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, and dear friends who will remember him fondly.

​

He was the loving uncle of the late Michael A. Caramanica Jr. and brother-in-law of the late William P. Matthews.

​

Family and friends are invited to gather at 11AM for a graveside ceremony on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Calvary Cemetery located at 250 High St in Waltham.

In lieu of flowers., expressions of sympathy may be made in Larry’s memory to the American Heart Association
