Mazzola, Iole A. (Coppola), born in Atina, Italy and a longtime Waltham resident and formerly of Brighton, died at her home surrounded by family on January 30, 2026. She was 88 years old.

 

Iole was the beloved wife of the late Luciano Mazzola and devoted mother of Liliana Leombruno and husband Ronald, Linda Galvin and husband Timothy, all of Waltham. Loving grandmother of Ronald Leombruno and his wife Deanna, and Carla Ward and her husband Christopher and Shauna and Timothy Galvin, all of Waltham. Great-grandmother of Valentino and Alessio Leombruno.

Iole was one of 8 siblings and is survived by her brother Albert Coppola and sister Nina Funari. 

 

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

 

Visiting Hours Wednesday, Feb. 4 from 4-8pm in the Magni FH, 365 Watertown St., Newton, and again Thursday morning at 9:30am, before proceeding to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington St., Newton for a 10:30am Funeral Mass. Burial to follow in Newton Cemetery.
