Harry "Mac" McIntyre, 93, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, in Newton, Massachusetts.

Born on May 14, 1932, in Bronxville, New York, Harry led a life marked by dedication to his work, a sharp wit, and a deep love for family and sports.  He earned his bachelor's degree from Amherst College, laying the foundation for a dynamic and varied professional journey.

Harry began his career in advertising with the United Fruit Company, where he brought creativity and energy to his work. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him to own Ortin's Sporting Goods in Norwood, where he combined his business acumen with his lifelong passion for athletics. He continued his professional path at Nike in Wrentham, contributing to one of the most iconic brands in sportswear.

In his younger years, Harry was an avid athlete who loved playing basketball and continued to play golf well into his late 80s.  These pursuits were not just hobbies but reflections of his competitive spirit and appreciation for camaraderie and discipline.

Harry is lovingly remembered by his partner, Barbara Burdick; his daughter, Lisa Matschner and her family; his sons, Scott McIntyre and Douglas McIntyre and their families; and his brother, Bill McIntyre. His unique blend of loving care and well-timed sarcasm left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

May Harry’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire stories filled with warmth and laughter.
