Anita Braceland, 90, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026. She spent a majority of her life in Newton and the last fifteen years in Hudson.

Anita was the cherished daughter of the late Anna and Louis Negrotti. She was the sister of Robert Negrotti and his wife Barbara, and the late Teresa Mazzola and her husband Al, and the late Frank Negrotti.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Braceland who passed away 45 years ago at the young age of 47. Through the years she has continued to have a close relationship with her in-laws. Her two remaining sister in laws, Nancy and Jill Braceland, have surrounded her with love, friendship and unwavering support. Anita was a devoted mother to Bob Braceland and his wife Wendy, Lisa Aylaian and her husband Doug, and Eric Braceland and his longtime partner Angela Giampa. She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren: Brendon Aylaian, Justin Aylaian, Ashley Aylaian, Brooke Braceland, Courtney Aylaian, Michael Braceland, Robert Braceland, and Joe Braceland and a proud great-grandmother to Caidyn Aylaian. Her family was the center of her life, and she took great pride in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild grow. She was also blessed to have Milani Gaynor in her life, a beloved child who held a very special place in her heart.

Anita was a hardworking and dedicated woman. She began her career as a bank teller and later became a school crossing guard while raising her children. She went on to work as a Finance Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police at the Newton Police Department, where she remained until her retirement. Even after retiring, Anita continued to enjoy working and connecting with people, working part-time in the gift shop and Mother Baby Boutique at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

Anita will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, strength, and devotion to her family and friends. She touched the lives of many through her years of service to the Newton community and through the love she gave so generously to those around her.

She leaves behind a loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories that will remain in their hearts forever.
