Theresa Ann Moore, 90, passed peacefully in her home on Friday, February 2, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia on July 19, 1933, she was the daughter of Dan Hasey and Mary Ann McKay. One of 14 children, she grew up on a farm in the hills of Clydesdale, NS. At eighteen she married the boy next door and the “love of her life” Patrick (Joe) Moore, a combat veteran of the Second World War for the Canadian Army. Eventually, they moved to Boston, MA, to “seek their fortune” and there they raised their five children.

Theresa, or Terri as she was known, worked proudly as a nursing assistant for 35 years at Newton Convalescent Home in West Newton, MA. A job she loved and cherished, retiring only when she felt her age had surpassed that of the residents. She loved to craft and was an expert quilter. She put that expertise and care to good use by hand making one-of-a-kind, and much treasured quilts for all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was looking forward to her next quilt for baby Kelly.

She loved to cook for her family, and her family loved what she cooked. Among her most sought-after meals were her chicken parm, corned beef and cabbage, chicken noodle soup, and a long list of other coveted recipes. Holiday meals were especially meaningful and much anticipated by the whole family when gathered at Nanny’s.

She, along with her husband, looked forward to their annual summer trips back home to Canada with great anticipation. They enjoyed spending time on the farm and reconnecting with family and friends.

Theresa is survived by her son, Kenneth (Cynthia Zawacki) of Antrim, NH, his son Tom (Taylor Prendergast) of Madbury, NH and their children Jack, Emerson and Monroe; daughter Colleen (Ronan Shovlin) of Pelham, NH, and their children Seamus and Eoin. Daughter Donna (Tim McCue) of Framingham, MA, her daughter Heather (Jude Aufiero) of Centreville, VA, and their children Isabella and Keira; son Nick (Amy Roseman) of Ashland, MA, and their children Cameron and Emma; and daughter Cate of Framingham, MA. Daughter Pamela (David Kelly) of Bluffton, SC, her son Shaun (Dannah Basgall) of Brooklyn, NY; son Trevor of Pittsburgh, PA; daughter Megan of Arlington, TX; and stepson David (Anne Magnan) of Woburn, MA, and their children Cordelia and Pierce. Daughter Shirley (Frank Souza) of Wrentham, MA, and her daughters Jaime Cullen and Danielle Cullen. Daughter Deborah Moore of Natick, MA.

She is also survived by a brother Harold Thompson of BC, and a sister Helen Layes of Antigonish, NS. She is also survived by her grand-puppy, Finn, that she loved very much. Special persons in her life, Maureen Childs, Betty Lou Annese, Maureen Higbee and son-in-law Lawrence Cullen. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick Joseph Moore on March 21, 1997, her parents Dan and Mary Hasey, brothers; Patrick, Alexander, John Daniel, James and Angus, sisters; Peggy, Betty, Josephine, Gertrude, Kaye, Rosemary. A special thank you to Good Shepard Hospice for their compassionate support to us all during the most difficult of times.
