Sayyon Ngangan, age 72, peacefully passed away in Fulton, MD on January 2, 2025 following a two year battle with cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). He was born in Phrae in Northern Thailand on April 17, 1953 to Pan and Jumpee Ngangan and was the youngest of 10 children. In 1975, at the age of 22, after receiving his college degree Sayyon moved to Boston, MA to join his older sister (Fong Hall).
Sayyon enjoyed working as a building engineer for over 30 years in Boston. Over the decades, he helped and met scores of people through his work. He valued hard work, education, and kindness, which he instilled in his children. In his free time, Sayyon was an avid golfer and loved traveling with friends to experience new courses throughout the country. He shared his love for golf with his children and grandchildren. Whether it was hitting balls in the backyard or putting in the living room, Sayyon enjoyed sharing time with his family.
Sayyon is survived by his long-term partner, Aphantree “Tay” Mraysuk, former wife, Vannarat Boontong, and their two daughters, Alyssa (Brandon) Kitchel and Tanya Ngangan, as well as three grandchildren (Kataliya, Ariya, and Chase).
