She attended the University of California Berkeley, earning a degree in education in 1950, and taught briefly in California, then in Missouri, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. She was married first to Donald Edward Paul in 1951, with whom she raised four children, and then in 1983, married her second husband, Alfred Emerson Wade, with whom she enjoyed traveling, hiking, and singing. She cherished singing with her family around the piano.
Rosann loved to travel and visited Mexico, Greece, Turkey, Morocco, Spain, and England with her husband Al. A highlight of her travels included attending her grandson’s Bar Mitzvah in Israel. She also visited Martha’s Vineyard every summer and it was there that she and Al were married.
In addition to being an avid reader and gardener, Rosann was dedicated to social justice causes and volunteered in politics and community activities. She worked on many political campaigns and was once a delegate to the Massachusetts Democratic convention. She was a docent at Bowdoin College, participated in the annual book sale at Curtis Memorial Library, and coordinated sing-alongs for a local Respite Care Program in Brunswick.
She is survived by her four children, Chris Edward Duval of Hilo, Hawaii, Lise Ann Paul of Watertown, Massachusetts, David Edward Paul of Matteson, Illinois, and Jean Lorelle Paul Wilson of Marlborough, Connecticut; her three grandchildren, Joseph Duval, Lucien Delgutte, and Elizabeth Wilson; her stepchildren, Linda Amero, Thomas Wade and Paula Foley, and Judith Clausen as well as many family members in the San Francisco Bay area.
