Robert Joseph Schraffa of West Newton, age 84, passed away peacefully at MetroWest Medical Center on Nov. 10, 2023.

Bob was born in Winthrop, MA on July 21, 1939 to the late Joseph and Rose (Briana) Schraffa. He was married to the love of his life, Loretta (Piselli). They shared 49 great years together. 

​

Bob worked for the phone company and he and Loretta raised their family in West Newton. Bob loved spending time with his late wife dancing the night away at Hanscom Air Force Base with beloved friends. He always looked forward to a good meal at the Chateau in Waltham. A passion of his was hosting cookouts in his backyard with family. This is what he was all about.

One of Bob's most cherished loves in life was his three grandchildren: Kyle, Kaitlyn and Nicholas, who will miss their Papa dearly. He is also survived by his three children, Lisa Santin and her husband Drew, Paul and his wife Cheryl and Brian and his wife Sue. He was predeceased by his wife, Loretta, and his sister, Rosemarie "Lovey" DiTullio.

Visiting hours in the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 4-8pm and again on Thursday morning at 9am before proceeding to Our Lady's Church, 573 Washington St, Newton for a 10:30am Funeral Mass. Burial to follow at Newton Cemetery.
