Priscilla Anne (Stone) Sliney, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, formerly of Needham and Chatham, MA, widow of Philip Martin Sliney, entered peacefully into eternal rest on September 8, 2022 after a long illness.

Born on March 1, 1939 in Boston, Priscilla was one of two daughters of the late Ronald M. Stone and Helen T. Stone. She was the Assistant to the Dean of the Carroll Graduate School of Management at Boston College where she worked for more than 3 decades under a number of program deans. Her responsibilities included being the quintessential planner of events and manager of student services and records, as well as serving as a confidante for students and coworkers alike with a drive for enabling their academic success. She loved New England and Cape Cod, especially spending time by the seashore with family and friends.

Her family was everything to her. She was devoted to taking care of her husband Phil, their two children, and four grandchildren. She was a terrific cook who never let anyone leave her home anything but happily stuffed and an avid reader on any nearby beach. She also had an impeccable sense of style and flair for shopping that her daughter and granddaughters carry on.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Stapleton (Bob) of the Isle of Palms, SC; her son Phil Sliney, Jr. (Jenn) of Needham, MA; her sister Janet Stone of Topsfield, MA; four grandchildren Matthew and Chloe Stapleton, Alex and Katie Sliney, as well as multiple close family members including her sister-in-law Carole Powers (Brian) and brothers-in-law Robert Sliney (Diane) and David Sliney (Judy), and many extended family members and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Philip Martin Sliney, meeting him in middle school and sharing a devoted marriage for sixty years. The two spent a lifetime together full of wonderful memories, often just enjoying each other’s company.

The family wishes to thank the many caregivers at Shem Creek Health who cared for both Priscilla and Philip over these last few years, including Catherine and Penny.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at 11 AM at the Memorial Chapel of the Newton Cemetery and Arboretum, 791 Walnut St, Newton, MA 02459.
