Caruso, Marie.jpeg

Marie (Hawkes) Caruso, a longtime Newton resident who later lived in Holliston and passed on Nov. 17, age 81, was raised by Maria "Ma" Giuseppa Marucci &  William Clifford Hawkes and her grandparents  Pasquale and Maria A. (Colella) Marucci.

Survived by her daughter Michele Caruso Nieves, husband David, and their children Jacob & Carmen, as well as her son John Anthony Caruso Jr., wife Rebecca, and their three daughters Deanna, Emma, Grace. She also leaves behind her beloved Grand Dogs: Ollie, Guinness, Sadie, Levi, and Duke.

Marie, a dedicated Italian interpreter, spent years working at the unemployment center in Newton corner. She later worked at G&D and Galen St Market in Watertown, offering coffee, donuts, and engaging in lively gossip and how the current New England Sports team was doing.

Like her late husband, "Johnnie," Marie was an ardent fan of the Patriots and Red Sox, often passionately discussing bad plays and occasionally shutting off the TV in frustration. The couple also enjoyed bowling in a league at the Wal-lex  in Waltham and then dine at the Chateau every Friday following.

Fondly remembered by her special friend Pam Anderson and Family, who cared for Marie whether Marie liked it or not. Her cousin Buddy Marucci, and his late wife Sally. Their children Scott & Tricia Marucci and Kathleen Marucci and Josh Erickson

Marie will be laid to rest next to her late husband in a private service.
