Margaret (Peg) A. (Owen) Corcoran of Brewster, MA, passed away at home on October 18, 2023, after a brief illness. She was comforted at her bedside by family and friends. Peg was born on September 23, 1940, and lived most of her life in Brighton, Newton and Woburn, MA. Peg was predeceased by her parents, Robert E. and Eleanor G. (Brennan) Owen, brothers James P., Robert E. Jr, Richard Owen, and former husband John T. Corcoran.

Peg was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter Karen M. (Corcoran) and son-in-law John W. Porter of Brewster, MA. She was a loving “Nannie” to her three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Sarah (Porter) Toubo and her daughter Harper of Pennsylvania; Gregory Porter, his wife Crystal and their children Kendall, Teagan, and Jackson of Massachusetts; and Joshua Porter, his wife Kaitlin and their son Logan of South Carolina.

Peg received her bachelor’s degree from Emmanuel College and worked 24 years as a Senior Staff Accountant at GTE/General Dynamics. It was through work that Peg made wonderful friends with whom she traveled near and far.

Peg was excited to move to Cape Cod, to live with John and Karen, in the apartment she designed. She had a zest for life and loved spending time with family and friends. She never passed up a chance to play Uno with her great-grandchildren, go on a “Girls Weekend”, have lunch out with friends, play a good game of cards at the Senior Center, or enjoy a great seafood meal, a scoop of pistachio ice cream, and a glass of pinot grigio!

During her last few days, Peg was cared for by the wonderful hospice care professionals from the VNA of Cape Cod and Bridget’s Home Healthcare. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation, PO Box 370 · Hyannis, MA 02601 or at:  https://support.givetocapecodhealth.org/donate.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 24, at the Magni Funeral Home, 365 Watertown St, Newton from 4:00-7:00PM and again Wednesday morning, Oct. 25, at 9:15AM before proceeding to a 10:30AM Funeral Mass at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, 573 Washington St. Burial service following at the Calvary Cemetery, 250 High Street, Waltham, MA.
