Paolini, Joseph.jpeg

Joseph John Paolini “Uncle Joe” 88 of Newton Massachusetts passed away peacefully Friday morning December 9th, 2022, at The Branches of Marlborough surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born August 24, 1934, in Newton, MA to the late Louise M. (DeAngelis) and Angelo O. Paolini and was the last living sibling of four; two younger sisters Carolina Paolini, and Louise M. Paolini and older brother Angelo D. Paolini. He was also survived by his two nephews, Angelo Daniel Paolini and wife Paula of Newton and Joseph Thomas Paolini and his wife Susan of Marlborough, one niece Louise P. Paolini of Newton, many great nieces and nephews and “a couple of great-greats” as Joe would say.  Joe loved his family endlessly.

Joe grew up in Newton, MA and after graduating from Newton North High School in 1954, he got his Engineering Degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. He then went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 25 years where he was able to fulfill his love for work, traveling and meeting new people. Joe was a small business owner of Newton Trade Center and inventor, most notable for the valve used in the soda gun that is still used today in restaurants across the country.

His hobbies included skiing in Colorado, hunting in Maine, fishing in Cape Cod mostly with his family and teaching them along the way and vacationing in Florida with his mom and two sisters. His nephews Danny and Joey were like sons to him most recently his favorite thing to do was go on rides with Daniella, his good friend and caretaker, to the job sites and watch them operate heavy equipment.

Joe especially will be remembered for his quick-witted conversations and flirtatious personality that made him such a genuine and easy person to love.

Visitation on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 9-10AM in the funeral home. Funeral Mass to follow at 10:30AM in Our Lady's Church, 573 Washington St, Newton. Burial Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Faith and Family Hospice, 420 Lakeside Ave, Marlborough, MA 01752 would be appreciated.
