Izabella Mali of Newton, Massachussets passed away on January 4th, 2023.  She was 88 years old.  

Izabella was born in Tirana, Albania on April 25th, 1935.  She will be remembered by everyone who had the pleasure to know her and be in her presence as a warm and strong woman, always well dressed, eloquent, cultured, an outstanding story teller who would impose respect and attract attention and become the center of conversation.

 

Izabella was the dear loving and devoted wife of Vasil Mali.  Loving mother of Ejvis Mali and Florent Mali.  Grand mother of Spiro, Izabella, Matthew and Fiona.  She is the 4th sibling of an extended family of 7 children and 16 nieces and nephews.  

 

Izabella loved life.  She loved humor, music and politics  She was an avid opera singer, a regular follower of international politics and an amazing cook.  She shared her qualities and her big heart with everyone as she lived her life fully in 3 countries, Albania, Greece and US.  She made friends everywhere she was, even without understanding the language.  She was a fierce defender of humanitarian democratic values and she lived her life as a crusader for the poor and oppressed, always extending a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  

 

Visitations are to take place on Saturday, January 7th at 1-2pm in the funeral home. Reception to follow across the street at Moldova Restaurant, 344 Watertown St, Newton.
