Fintan Edward “Vinny” Daly passed away suddenly on October 14, 2023.  

 

Vinny was born in Manhattan, NY on March 19, 1936, to the late Fintan and Margaret (Finn) Daly. He grew up in the Bronx NY and graduated from Fordham Preparatory School.  He attended the Cooper Union and then embarked on a career in the aerospace industry.  This career choice as a design engineer would take him to several states on the East Coast, most notably South Carolina and Massachusetts.  

 

In 1991, he married Judi and remained devoted to her over the many happy years of their marriage.  Not a day went by when he didn’t make her smile or laugh with a joke.  Vinny was a lifetime member of both the Moose and Elks Lodges where he spent many hours playing his favorite game of pool amongst friends.  

 

Vinny is survived by his wife, Judi (Lane) Daly, son Tom Daly and wife Helena (Sway), daughter Catherine Blair and husband Travis, son Edward Daly and wife Audrey (Stemann), daughter Elizabeth Daly, stepson Frank Terrio and wife Judy (Riordan) and grandchildren Jesse, Meaghan, Brent, Maggie, Joe and Libby. He was predeceased by his stepson Paul Terrio.

 

Visitation on Friday, October 20, at the Magni Funeral Home, 365 Watertown St, Newton from 10:00-11:30AM followed by a 12 Noon Mass at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, 573 Washington St., Burial service following Mass at the Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut Street, Newton, MA
