Edward E. Del Vecchio Jr. passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the age of 83. He was the son of the late Lena and Edward E. Del Vecchio Sr. He leaves behind his beloved wife Anne, of 62 years, his 3 children and their spouses, Cynthia and Matthew Grady, Edward and Monica Del Vecchio, and Stephen and Elizabeth Del Vecchio; his 4 grandsons, Christopher Grady, Robert Grady, Timothy Del Vecchio, and Anthony Del Vecchio. He also leaves his brother Paul and his wife Angie, his two sisters, Joan and her husband Rich Robinson, Mary Carroll, and his late brother James and his wife Janice. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and great nephews.

 

Ed enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, helping out with Pop Warner Football and Newton West Little League. He spent many nights at the Albemarle Park where he maintained the parks for the games to be played. He always enjoyed working at the 4th of July celebration at Albemarle Park. 

 

Ed served 3 years in the US Marines and became a rifleman before he left the Marines. After the Marines, he became a quality control engineer for a Waltham company for many years. In addition to that he wrote manuals for the FAA. 

Visiting hours in the funeral home on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 2-6pm and again Monday morning at 8:45AM before proceeding to St. Bernard Parish, 1523 Washington St, West Newton for a 10AM Mass. Burial in Calvary Cemetery
