Annette “Nettie” Belsanti passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at the age of 102.  Annette embraced life with tenacity, curiosity, and good faith.  Born in Newton, MA on November 15, 1921, to the late Pietro and Antoinetta Belsanti (Montanaro).  Annette was the beloved sister to the late Mike, Mario, and Enrico Belsanti.  Beloved sister-in-law to the late Ida (Girolamo), Ann (Cassiani), and surviving Jennie Belsanti (Dracopoulos).  She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

During her life in Newton, she worked at various job locations but eventually settled and retired from Lockwood Nutrition.  She was known to continue to fill in shifts up until her late eighties, a sign of her incredible work ethic.  But her most joy came from her dancing and the crew she danced with.  The love of music and dance was truly the recipe to life.  Whether it be at Mosley on the Charles Ballroom in Dedham, Lake Pearl in Wrentham, Watertown Senior Center,  the Monday night in West Roxbury, or Thursday afternoons at the American Legion Post 440 right here in the “Lake”.  Her and her friends were still going to the dance right up until the Pandemic hit.  She had the opportunity to go back to the Post 440 for Thursday dance in April 2023.  It was a great celebration for her and the dancing crew.

A deep appreciation for the Branches of Marlboro Assisted Living Staff for embracing Annette’s last 2 years and making her safe, engaging, joyful, and lastly and most important having fun.

She was a born ahead of her time and was an inspiration to all she met.  She will be missed by all.

In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity or to Annette’s favorite Boys Town.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Annette on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 12 Noon in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington St, Newton. Burial of her ashes to follow at Newton Cemetery.
