Amalia (Tanzi) Piccirilli of Newton, born December 15, 1932, in San Giovanni Incarico in the Province of Frosinone, Italy, passed away peacefully at home on May 21, 2022.

She was the daughter of the late Serafino and Rosa Tanzi, the beloved wife of the late Raffaele J. Piccirilli, a devoted mother to Tina Chisari and her late husband, Salvatore S. Chisari, a loving grandmother to Mario Chisari and his wife Sondra and Sandra Lawry and her husband Daniel, and great grandmother to Vivia, Salvatore, Avaleen, & Leo Chisari and Eli, Nina, and Gerard Lawry.  Her greatest joys were in her husband, daughter and grandchildren.

Amalia was born and raised in Italy and married her husband at the age of 17 and moved to the United States. Her career began as a seamstress in bridal and other dress boutiques in the metro west area. She joined Saks Fifth Avenue in Boston upon their opening where she rose to be a top fitter. Amalia was very grateful to spend the last ten years watching her 7 great grandchildren come into the world. Her other love was cooking authentic Italian dishes for her family. Her great grandchildren treasured her homemade fettuccine and potato gnocchi that she made for Sunday dinners. Amalia will be dearly missed by her family who will cherish every memory they have of her.
