Alfonso "Al" Panichella Sr. of Newton and West Yarmouth, passed unexpectedly on June 10, 2025 at age 79.

 

Beloved husband for 54 years to Adele (Marzilli) Panichella. Devoted father to Joseph and his wife Julie, Alfonso Jr. "Albie" and his wife Lucia. 

 

Loving grandfather to Anthony and Michael DiRusso and Angelo, Joey and Niko Panichella. 

 

Dear brother of Joseph and his wife Rose and Josephine Latino and her husband Michael.

 

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

Al was an accomplished mechanic who ran Newtonville Exxon for many years. Later, he worked for his dear friend, Tom Forte, in landscaping and construction.

 

He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He also cherished spending time with his grandchildren.

 

Visiting hours in the Magni Funeral Home on Monday, June 16 from 4-8pm and again Tuesday morning at 9:15am before proceeding to Our Lady's Church, 573 Washington St, Newton for a 10:30am Funeral Mass. Burial is private.
